The GB95 is an LGA LPWA module based on 3GPP Release 14 technology optimized for connection to Cat M1, Cat NB2 and EGPRS networks, and also has an integrated GNSS receiver. Its wide range of internet protocols, interfaces and functionalities allow it to support a broad array of IoT use cases, from smart meters and tracking systems to wearables and POS devices. It also offers pin-to-pin compatibility with several of our 4G and 2G modules for ease of migration. The module’s LGA package, which measures 23.6mm × 19.9mm × 2.2mm, allows for fully automated manufacturing which is ideal for applications requiring high production volumes.

The GB95 is capable of download rates of 588Kbps and upload rates of up to 1119 kbps under Cat M1. It is designed for ultra-low power consumption via integrated RAM and flash, and its ARM Cortex A7 processor supports ThreadX enabling 70% reduction of PSM leakage and 85% reduction of eDRX current consumption compared to the previous model. It also has a range of hardware-based security features and allows trusted applications to run directly on its Cortex A7 TrustZone engine.
